My mother passed from this life to her eternal
home in Heaven. To those of you who new my
mother, thank you for being her friend. For those
who may not have know her, I sure wish you
could have been acquainted. She was a very
special lady, a portrait of a Godly woman. Her
life of sacrifice, love, and unending forgiveness
pointed many to Jesus Christ !
So, we celebrate her salvation when she
accepted the Lord, and because of that, we
celebrate her eternal life with God.
Jesus said: “I go to prepare a place for you,
and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will
come again and receive you unto myself, that
where I am there you may be also.”
Where Jesus is, My mom is also!
One of her greatest hopes was being able
to join her loved ones who have gone on before
her. But most of all, her hope was that of
seeing Jesus face-to-face.
Mom has moved to her eternal home in heaven,
but what a heritage she left! Her heart and
hands were always open. She saw the good in
everything and everyone and she wanted us to
do the same. She was a woman of great
courage who faced every problem with
confidence and complete reliance upon her
ever-present Lord!
She enjoyed camping, horseback riding,
redoing, drawing, raising kids, horses
and puppies. Later in life her she enjoyed
watching her grandson and his friends play
baseball on a team called “Sure Cut Lawn
Care.” It wasn’t long before she became known
as Gramma to everyone on the team.
One of my mother’s great milestones is when
she was denied a job because she never
graduated from high school. So at 79 years of
age she returned to Derby High School (Go
Panthers) to finish school and get her diploma.
Did I fail to mention how strong willed she was.
And when she set her mind on something there
was no stopping her.
She drove a school bus for 15 years which
completed her long list of gifts and talents.
I know there will be times when the memory
Of Mary Lou Hill and what she said and did
will inspire all of us to do better.
This is God’s love shown to us-through her…
and it will affect how we live. What a privilege
It is to be her children, grandchildren, and
friends.
