Mary Jane Hayworth, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandma and "Mom Mary" to special ones, died June 23, 2017. She was born in a small town of Salem, South Dakota to William and Julia Claxton Mueller. The family moved to a farm west of Salem when Mary Jane was 4 years old. She attended a one room class at Prairie View school through 3rd grade. The family then moved to Grandby, Missouri where she completed grades 4th thru 8th. Mary Jane graduated in 1945 from Neosho, Missouri High School with a National Honor Society pin. In October of 1945, Wichita became her home where she met and married George Charles Hayworth in 1946. To this union, 3 children were born keeping Mary Jane very active as a Brownie-Girl Scout leader, den mother, busy with little league, Waco school PTA committees as well as President of Waco PTA along with several other city PTA committees. She attended all her high school reunions until there were not enough from her class to attend anymore. Mary Jane had her maternal genealogy traced from England to the Mayflower finding she was the 11th generation. She was a caring, loving, giving person, always thinking of and doing for others. Preceding her in death are her parents, and brothers, Donald and Paul Mueller. Survivors include her husband, George; sons, Richard Hayworth (Shirley) of Clearwater, Jerry Hayworth (Donna) of Wichita; daughter, Emily Gallimore (Lloyd) of Macksville; brother, Robert Mueller (Carol) of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Alice Ferguson of Roanoke, VA, Shirley Birch of Dothan, AL; grandchildren, Derrick Hayworth (Lexie), Darren Hayworth, Devon Hayworth (Becky), Dustin Hayworth (fiance, Michele Kenyon), Sgt, Jeff Hayworth (Kate), Scott Hayworth (fiance, Laura), Charlene Humbolt (John) Melanie Barkley; great-grandchildren, Dawson, Paeton, Zoey, Nick, Allen, Lauren, Madisan, Kaidynce, Kyleigh, Klaytin, Garrett, Meanna, J.C; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: 3-8pm Wednesday, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 South Seneca. Funeral service: 1 pm Thursday, West Side Church of the Nazarene, 2300 S. Seneca. A memorial is established with the church.
