M. Maxine Hanley

September 19, 1923 — February 12, 2025

On February 12th, at the age of 101, our beloved Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma Hanley peacefully went home to Jesus. While our hearts ache with her passing, we are filled with gratitude for the incredible life she lived and the many beautiful memories she gave us.

Grandma Hanley was a woman of wisdom, warmth, and unwavering love. She had a sharp memory and could recall anything and everything—whether it was family stories, crossword puzzle answers, or small details from her childhood. She found joy in cross-stitching, journaling, reading, and watching golf, and she especially loved listening to George Strait and classic country music.

She had a special way of making everyone feel loved. She was a devoted mother to Daniel (Georgette) and Kristen (Randy), grandmother to Jenni, Libby, Abbie (Ian), and Emaleigh (Josh), and great-grandmother to Presleigh, Amelia, Grace, Eloise, Everett, Jack, Charlotte, and Reid. She stitched love into every Christmas stocking she made, not only for her grandchildren but for their spouses and children as well—each one a precious, handmade keepsake.

One of our favorite things about Grandma Hanley was her love for Coke. For her 100th birthday, we made sure to have a Coke station just for her. She loved sitting on the porch swing, soaking in the sunshine while watching the birds and sharing stories about her childhood. Born September 19, 1923, she witnessed a century of history, and we cherished every moment spent listening to her reminisce.

We are forever grateful for the promise of eternal life, knowing we will see her again one day. Her legacy of love and strength will live on in all of us. A private memorial service will be held later.
