Mary Geneva Bottoms

Derby – Bottoms, Mary Geneva Pickett, Passed away December 13, 2016 in Wichita, KS. She was Born February 20, 1922, in Shady Grove AR, to the late Richard Ray and Noma (Spotts) Pickett. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bottoms was proceeded in death by her husband Millard Bottoms; sisters Gladys Pickett, and Elizabeth Stubblefield; brothers Joseph E., William (Bill), John, and Charles Ray Pickett; a niece Mary Virginia Pickett. Survivors include daughters; Mary Jo (Larry) Gwaltney of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, Mona (Daniel) Stecklein of Wichita; grandchildren, C. Ryan (Holli) Gwaltney, Houston, TX, Matthew J. Stecklein, of Houston, TX and Kathryn M. Stecklein of Buffalo, NY and great grandchild Danielle Gwaltney (Ryan and Holli). Also sister-in-law Verlene (Burns) Pickett of Pocahontas, AR; nieces Sheri Midkiff and Karen Pickett; nephews, Gary, Richard, and Brian Pickett. Mary retired from Boeing Military Airplanes after forty years of service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to her children. Funeral service will be Thursday, December 22, at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037. Memorials may be made to the Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill Set 403, Wichita, KS 67206. Mary's family would like to thank Regent Park Rehab and Health Care, and also the Good Shepherd Hospice for their help and support.
