Marvin E. Harlan, Jr., age 79, retired scientific engineer for Boeing, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2013. Visitation 1-8pm Sunday at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Graveside service 2pm Monday, August 12th, 2013 at Mulvane Cemetery, Mulvane. Marvin is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin, Sr. and Grace Harlan; wife, Rosie Harlan. He is survived by his daughter, Belinda (Greg) Pierce of Purlear, NC; granddaughter, Emily Pierce; cousins, Alice (John) Fisher and Sharon Snook.
