Marvelle L. McCray, age 83, of Wichita, retired VA Medical Center nursing assistant, and former St. Francis Medical Center employee and Meridian Health Care Center, Activity Director, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011. Visitation 1-8 PM Sunday, with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. Funeral service 10 AM Monday, Northside Church of Christ, 4545 N. Meridian. Marvelle is preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Inez Wiggins; husbands, Clayton Parrish and Melvin McCray; stepson, Jerry McCray; and a daughter, Karen Marie Parrish. Survivors: son, Gary Parrish, of Wichita; daughters, Kay Heppler (Mike), of Eureka, Janet Baugher (Wade), of Waukegan, IL, Lou Anne Phelps (Don Gross) and Sheila Marie Parish, all of Wichita; stepson, Mike McCray (Marsha), of Park City; stepdaughter, Sandra King (Ron), of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Delbert Wiggins (Thelma), of Santa Clara, CA, and Lyle Wiggins (Fay), Sunnyvale, CA; sister, Barbara Bollig, of Chanute; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
