Martha Jean Deines

Martha Jean Deines, passed away December 24, 2013. She was born on November 14, 1929, to Alexander and Dollie (Becker) Stieben in Bazine, KS. She married John H. Deines, Jr. on January 3, 1948 in Raton, NM. They celebrated 64 years together. Jean is survived by her sister Rosie Swanson, Belleville, KS; two daughters, Pam Rosenberry, Douglass, KS and Kathy Berry, Canton, KS; 5 grandchidlren and 10 great-grandchildren. Jean was a true home maker all her life, working outside of the home as a nurse aide at Grisell Memorial Hospital in Ransom, KS and as a claims processor at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Topeka, KS. She was always at her husband’s side for his growing and prosperous lawn mower business, taking her crocheting projects with her as they traveled. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 7972 and the Faith Lutheran Church of Topeka. Graveside service 1 pm Saturday, December 28, at Bazine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Home Health of Kansas, 7607 E. Harry, Wichita, KS 67207.
