85, passed away Saturday, September 21st, 2024.  He was born November 20th, 1938 to Marquis Thurston Kilby and Ruth Gay Kilby in Yates Center, Kansas. Mark married Nellie Vosler on June 6, 1959 and they have just recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary.

Mark began his career at age 15 helping his father in the oil drilling business and continuing the business following his father’s death. Following his career in the oil business, Mark and Nellie spent time together as over the road truck drivers. After 13 years, Mark and Nellie settled down in Wichita, Ks and he worked his first corporate job at Boeing as a maintenance mechanic.

Mark’s greatest joys in life were his spiritual relationship with God and spending time with his family, and friends. Mark pursued a career where his knack for innovation and problem-solving shone brightly. He took pride in his work, often going above and beyond to ensure that nothing was beyond repair. He loved sharing his knowledge with anyone willing to learn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Marquis and Ruth; sister, Delores Kilby, and 1 grandchild

Mark is survived by his wife; children, Mitchelle Kilby, Mark Kilby, and Marla (Tim) Bohall; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren

Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 5th, 2024 at Smith Mortuary, 1415 North Rock Road Derby, Kansas 67037. Dress attire: Casual.
