Coffey, Mark Anthony, 66, passed away on May 23, 2026. He was born to James and Sara Coffey on July 26, 1959, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
He spent his youth traveling the world as an army officer's son; with the love of country and service ingrained in him. His father taught him to uphold character and integrity above all, and his mother, to have a strong mind and good heart.
Growing up, his brothers were his constant companions. The complex military family dynamic and the bond of brotherhood, set a lasting foundation that helped shape the man he grew to be.
He was a student of technology, with a knack for finding solutions, which led to a career in aviation for 20 years.
In his free time, he enjoyed hobbies of the "less than safe" variety, ranging from martial arts to drag racing. He also needed leather sheath's for his knives, so he took up leather work in addition to.
He adapted his lifestyle to fit his need for speed. His car buddies became family and he gained memories to last a lifetime.
All this to say, his real work of heart were his "soulshines" ; being a dad and grandpa was what he did best.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sara Coffey; brother, David Coffey and granddaughter; Tiya Bean.
Mark is survived by his children, Chelsea Bean (Gage) and Taggart Coffey; grandchildren, Arlo and Scottie Bean; siblings, Michael Coffey (Carla), James Coffey (Cindy) and numerous nieces and nephews.
