Marion Beaver

Marion J. Beaver, age 89, of Derby, mother and grandmother, and retired Boeing Company secretary, was born December 16, 1928 in Oconto, WI and passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 18 days. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:30 pm Thursday, November 8, with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am Friday, November 9, both at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby. A private inurnment at Resurrection Mausoleum will be held at a later date. Marion was active in the church for over 50 years and served as a cantor and sang in the choir. She was a professional cake decorator for 40 years, a 20 year member of the Sweet Adelines, a 20 year volunteer with the American Red Cross, and a 10 year volunteer at The Lord's Diner. She is preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Kort. Survivors include her sons, Michael Doherty and Robert Doherty (Donna); daughters, Mary Lou Sendall (Jon) and Sherri Hood; brothers, Andrew Pellkofer and William Kort (Lynn); sisters, Margaret Ready (Joe) and Rita Springborn (Gary); 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the St. Mary Catholic Church Building Fund, 2300 E. Meadowlark, Derby, KS 67037 and/or The Lord's Diner, 520 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214.
