Marilyn S. Hughes

Marilyn S. Hughes, age 77, of Derby, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014. Celebration of Life Memorial Service 2 PM Monday, April 28, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Marilyn and Roy proudly raised four children and three grandchildren. She loved the Southwest, antiques, western movies and always enjoyed her many pets. Moreover, she developed a special bond with each child and grandchild so that each felt a special relationship. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, John & Mabel Nelson; brother, Richard Nelson; sister, Sheila Rogers; and a grandson, Eric Lee. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Roy; son, Mark (Carmen), Belmont, CA; daughters, Debra Lee (David), North Olmsted, OH, Carol S. Engle, Columbia, SC, and Tracy Hughes, Port Orange, FL; sister, Judy Miller (Fred), Winfield; grandchildren, Julia Marshall (Tony), Andrea Bell (Benjamin), Scott Lee, Brian Lee (Katie), Jessie Ernst (Billy), Angela Hughes (Mike Bolz), Kyle Hughes (Emily Guinn); great-grandchildren, Mason, Dakota, Madelyn, Avery, River, Autumn, Weston and Breanna.
