It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marilou Hess. She was 96, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Marilou was called home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. She was surrounded by family, love, and prayer.
Marilou was born in Hamilton, KS on July 19th, 1928, to Earl Oliver and Elma (Bea) Ray Oliver.
Marilou married the love of her life Robert S. Hess on July 6, 1947, and they shared their lives together for 62 years until his death in 2009.
Preceded in death by both parents; husband; sister Marjorie Townley; brother Earl Oliver Jr; niece Rebecca Pinnell Whisler; nephew Richard Townley; nephew Duane Townley
Survived by nephew Jeffrey Pinnell (Gina), nephew Larry Townley (Carolyn), Roger Townley (Jane), niece in-law Terry Townley, niece in-law Judy Townley.
Marilou was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 75 years, A 30-year associate of International Harvester, and an active member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Omaha Nebraska.
Marilou wore many hats in her life, but her proudest hats were labeled Wife and Auntie. She loved fiercely and wholeheartedly. She was never afraid to let her opinion be heard. She was the protector and care giver. Marilou was the fun-loving aunt to a bunch of nieces and nephews. Her unconditional love, guidance and wisdom will be greatly missed.
