Margie Nell Smith

Smith, Margie Nell, 78, left her earthly pain to be with our Lord November 22, 2010. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-5 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, November 29 at First Baptist Church, 208 N. Georgie, Derby, where Margie had been a member since 1960. As a Registered Nurse, she worked with Dr. Robert McKerracher and retired from Boeing after 18 years as an Industrial Nurse. Margie will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, awesome grandmother, the best big sister, caring aunt, and a true friend. Preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Eula Combs, brother, Clell Combs, and sister Helen Johnson. Survived by husband Claud; children Debbie (Larry) Leiker, Vicki (Don) Dicks, Cheryl Smith, Doug Smith; grandchildren Matt Leiker, Ryan Leiker, Robbie Garlick, Josh Dicks, Jenny Amado, Krista Heincker, Caitlin Smith, Krystal Smith; great-grandchildren Jayce, Derek, Gabriel, Alex, and Isabelle; sisters Wanda Brandon, Joyce Vaughn, and Edna Thompson. A memorial has been established with First Baptist Church of Derby.
