Deerfield, Margie Jones, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at Medicalodges in Goddard, Kan. Memorial celebration will be held 2 p.m. Friday, at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. She was born June 1, 1932, in Valley Falls, Kan., to Neil and Isabel Newman. After her husband Dale died, she moved her family to Haysville. She spent 25 years at Safeway/Farmland Meat Processing. She savored her time with her Pomeranian, Miss Teddy, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She liked playing Bingo and the slots. She loved listening to Frank Sinatra. She was preceded in death by her parents Neil Newman and Gertrude Burch, step-mother Blanche Newman, half-brother Russell Newman, two husbands: Dale Montford Jones and David Wiley Deerfield; and son David Neil Jones and great-grandson, Landen D. Bowman. Survivors include two daughters: Janet Parson of Wichita, Beverly (Robert) Davis of El Dorado, son Stuart Jones of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren: Christie (William) Bowman, Bobbi (Kenneth) Eaton, Jeffrey (Kelli) Parson, Joshua (C.J.) Parson, Dale (Julie) Jones, Jerid Jones, Ryan (Elaine) Jones, Rhiannon (Johnny) Ramirez; sixteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Gentiva Hospice, 2622 West Central Avenue Suite 401-A Wichita, KS 67203.
