Margaret L. Cox, 79, also known as Marge or Margie, was born in Wichita KS, March 5,1945 and passed away October 25, 2024.


Marge was preceded in death by son Gary Smith, father Arthur Frank Clark and mother Dorilda M (Belisle) Clark, sisters Betty Smith, Nancy Caldwell, and Wanda Highland along with husband Lee Roy Cox.


Throughout her life Marge enjoyed family activities like camping, bingo, square dancing and traveling. She loved cooking for family and friends on the holidays. Marge always put others first and would do anything for family, friends and even strangers. Marge had a love for horses and enjoyed being around them. Marge was an owner of Indian Hills Meat and Poultry and was devoted to the family business. Marge enjoyed life to its fullest by being a positive influence to all who knew her.


Viewing 5-8pm Friday, November 1, with funeral services 3pm Saturday, November 2, at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Final resting place will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas.


Survived by brother Bill Clark (Paula Maloney), son Larry W. Smith (Lisa M. Smith), son Brian E. Smith (Jenniffer), son Mark L. Cox (Krystina Cox), step daughter Lee Ann Munjone, grandchildren Cody J. Smith (Sandra Smith), Chanelle J. Vaden (Zach Vaden), Lexus K. Cox, Xyler L. Cox, Emberlynn D. Cox, six great-grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren along with 9 step-greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews.


Memorials have been established with the Alzheimer’s Association, and the American Cancer Society.
