Margaret Mary Branson

Margaret Mary Branson (Liebetreu-Hoffman) 81, returned to her heavenly home on March 19, 2015 after a dauntless battle with a long illness. The devotion of her family supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her comfort and peace. Marge was born to the late Henry and Lillian Hoffman, a railroad worker and a homemaker respectively, in Chicago, IL on January 14, 1934. She graduated from Kansas Newman in 1978 with a degree in nursing. She worked as a charge nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph Medical Center where she would retire in 1996. Marge was blessed with a loving family. She married Dean R. Branson on May 27, 1983 in Wichita, KS. Marge adored her husband Dean and they both found happiness in spending time with family and friends, taking day trips, cooking and cheering on our KU and WSU basketball/football teams along with our KC Chiefs. Marge raised her five children with patience, love, compassion and humility. No matter how tired she was from working 3rd shift while attending college at the same time, she would always attend the school plays and athletic games for her children. Marge is survived by her beloved husband Dean; her sons David Cliver, Robert (Linda) Liebetreu; her daughters Dawn Morgan, Diane Martin (Chris Pfannenstiel); her 7 grandchildren and her brother Henry Hoffman. She is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lillian Hoffman; her son Mark Cliver; her sisters Betty Hoffman and Helen Titus. Viewing will be held at Smith Mortuary located at 7031 South Broadway in Haysville, KS 67060 on March 24th, 1-8pm with family greeting from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. The service will be a graveside service at the Belle Plaine Cemetery in Belle Plaine, Kansas March 25th at 2:00 pm.
