Marcia Lou Zimmerman, 75, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026. She was born September 23, 1950 to David and Katherine Vanatta in Wichita.
"Your mom is the sweetest person ", those were most common words spoken about my mom. Of course she was a loving mother and grandmother who was family oriented but simply stating that does not describe the depth of her love and devotion to her husband and children. Her unconditional love and support was never questioned because it was incorporated into our daily lives. As a busy mother of four children she made time to celebrate all our birthdays at home and school, she attended all our extracurricular activities-cheering loud and proud for her kids. She loved the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas and her love of celebrating made them magical. She started family traditions of baking and decorating some of her favorite cookie recipes which will continue to be passed down. One of her favorite hobbies was going to garage sales and thrifting. She was the type of person who would make friends with strangers with no judgment and genuinely cared about people. She was the most consoling soul who I know to this day and would comfort anyone in need even if she was in need herself. If the loyalty, love, and duties of a mother and wife are measured by quality- our family will forever be grateful to have been blessed by her presence and life.
Preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tiffany Arpin-Zimmerman. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Larry; children, Shane (Nicole) Zimmerman, Tyson (Tonette) Zimmerman, Amber Zimmerman; grandchildren, Trista, Taylor, Cody, Bethany, Eathan, Ricky, Antoninio, Tyanna, Jordan, Jacob, Cayden and multiple great grandchildren.
