Manuel Arroyo of Mulvane, KS passed peacefully in his home on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was born April 14, 1936 in Winfield, KS to Narcisco and Mary Arroyo. He loved to camp, boat and fish on Kansas lakes, follow the local sports teams, and watch old westerns.
Manuel was a family man, married to his wife, Pat, for 61 years. They were married in Ft. Dix, NJ at the Ft. Dix Army Base. Manuel served in the Army for two years and served in the Army Reserve for four more. He was proud to have served his country. He moved back to Kansas with Pat in December of 1960 where they raised four boys. He worked for 42 years at Cessna, mostly as an experimental mechanic for the Caravan and Citation aircraft, and spent a lot of that time working outdoors. Manuel loved and was well- loved by his family, and he especially enjoyed his time as a “taxi driver” for his grandchildren during his later years in life. Manuel will be missed by his family.
Manuel is survived by his wife Pat; four sons Jeff (Sarah) - Olathe, Cecil (Regina) - Derby, Gary - Dallas, and Anthony (Lynette) – Gray, TN; four grandsons Nick, Chase, Conner and Quin; and four great-grandchildren; two siblings Josephine - Dallas, and Carol (Tom) - Wichita; preceded in death by three more siblings Robert, Jessie, and Juan.
Lie in State Visitation: Friday, April 30th, 2021 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Smith Family Mortuaries, 501 S.E. Louis Blvd, Mulvane, KS 67110. Graveside Service: 10 am, Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at Mulvane Cemetery, East 119th Street S, Mulvane, KS 67110.
