Lyn Ellen Baldwin

Lyn Ellen Crabtree Baldwin, loving mother, nana and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 28, 2023, in Wichita, Kansas.

Lyn was born October 12, 1945 to Eugene and Alice Mae (Hester) Crabtree in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Southeast High School in 1963, and shortly after graduation went to work at St. Francis Hospital as a Registered Histologist. She then went to work for Dr. Hale, until getting married and choosing to devote her time to raising her children.

She married Gerry Munn in 1969. Together they started a family and raised their children Allison and Jadd. After years of being a stay-at-home mom and taking care of her kids, she graduated from Kansas Newman in 1990 with an Associates Degree in Nursing. She then began her nursing career which included teaching, research, patient care, and workman’s compensation until 2010.

Lyn had a special talent for the creative arts, especially sculpting, painting and quilting, and she took joy in sharing her creations with family and friends. But her greatest pride was her family, their accomplishments and sharing time with them.

Lyn is proceeded in death by her parents, Eugene and Alice Mae Crabtree, and brother-in-law Jack Webber. She is survived by children Allison Munn and Jadd (Summer) Munn. Grandchildren Lexi Hamilton (Logan Kemp), Magnolia Munn, Asher Munn, and Oliver Munn. Sister Judy Webber, brother Steven Crabtree, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved rescue dogs Buddy and Marshall.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Smith Mortuary, Derby, on Friday, August 4, 2023, at 11:00 AM, with a viewing at 10:00 AM. Following the service, the family will gather at The Sandbox, 2412 N. Rock Road, Derby, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lyn’s name to Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219 or American Heart Association, Donate Here
