Luther Holloway, Sr.

Luther J. Holloway, Sr., 93, passed away Monday, November 5, 2018. He was born December 20, 1924 to William and Lilly (Newman) Holloway in Austin, AR. Luther was a veteran of WWII, serving on the US Carrier Hornet in the Southwest Pacific. He also served in the Kansas Air National Guard for a period of two years. Luther retired from the Boeing Aircraft Company in 1989 after 38 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda Lee Holloway; sisters, Ruby and Betty; and sons, Luther Jr. and Gary. Luther is survived by his children, Carolyn (Mike) Babinski; son, Ronald (Brenda) Holloway; daughters-in-law, Beth Holloway and Jane Holloway; siblings, Jessie and Richard (Nicky) Holloway; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Visitation: Thursday, November 8, 2018, from 3 to 8 pm with family present between 5 & 7 pm. Funeral: 10 am, Friday, November 9, 2018, both at Smith Mortuary, Haysville 7031 S. Broadway Haysville, Kansas 67060. Interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, 7829 E. Rockhill St. #403, Wichita, KS 67206.
