Van Dolah, Lorraine (Blomgren), died on September 7, 2014 at the age of 89. She was born in Boone County, Iowa on May 15, 1925 to Lloyd and Mabel (Hull) Blomgren. She grew up on the family farm and, following graduation from Luther High School, attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1946, she moved to Wichita, Kansas where she was employed by Farmers & Bankers Insurance Company until her marriage to Dwain Van Dolah on August 27, 1950. They were married for 58 years. She was an elementary school secretary for USD 259 at White, Harry Street, and Funston Elementary Schools for a total of 23 years as well as a genealogist, Girl Scout leader, softball coach, and 4-H Project Leader. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Mabel Blomgren, her husband, Dwain Van Dolah, and her brother, Robert Blomgren. She is survived by her sister Marian (Dean) Bauman of Boone, Iowa and brother Donald (Jamie) Blomgren of Ames, Iowa; her daughters, Judy Van Dolah of Wichita, Kansas, Carol (Richard) Stoico of Bedford, Massachusetts, and Sheri (Keith) Rooney of Augusta, Kansas; her grandchildren, Janette (Homer Welker) Warne, Jennifer (Brian Kasamoto) Warne, Julie Warne, Kelsey (William) McIntosh, Nicholas Stoico, Karl (Shelly)Rooney, Tracy (Wes Brown) Rooney, and Timothy (Audrey) Rooney; and great-grandchildren, Zachary Quick, Elias and Beatrice Welker, Jackson Warne, James and Benjamin McIntosh, Daniel and Kari Brown, and Ellie Mae and Alice Rooney. Visitation: 1 to 8 pm, Friday with family present between 5 and 7 pm. Funeral: 2 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2014; both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby, KS 67037.
