Loretta Janet Boring, 77, born December 10, 1948 and passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2025. Parents, Lillian and Reid Williams of Clearwater, Kansas.
Loretta was passionate about her work at the Sedgwick County Rural Water District #3. The customers were her friends, she didn't know a stranger. She loved spending time in her garden, especially caring for her flowers and watching the birds that stopped by. A Clearwater High School graduate, she enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and staying busy, but her favorite moments were spent with her family. She loved playing with her grandson and rarely missed one of his sporting activities, always cheering him on from the stands. The loves of her life were her son and her grandson, who meant everything to her. Loretta and Gerald had their never ending first date in 1989, and spent the next 36 years supporting each other and sharing a rare and true love. Early in their relationship, Loretta especially enjoyed their spontaneous travel adventures which may take them across town or across the country.
Her faith played an important role in her life, and she gave back through her church and volunteer work with Riverside, Lord's Diner, and homeless ministry. Kind, generous, and caring, she had a big heart and a special love for children. She will be remembered for her warmth, selflessness, and the many lives she touched.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Gerald; her son, Jeremy Miller of Mulvane, KS; grandson, Joshua Miller of Independence, Mo; siblings, Linda Crites, Doug Shelton, Barbara Harper, Peggy Williams, and Becky (Mike) Hammeke, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and her furbaby, Max.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and nephew, C.W. Emberson.
