Loren D. Steele,86,retired USD 259 teacher and coach at Truesdell, Mead and Curtis middle schools, died October 11, 2016. Loren was a real estate investor, gardener and avid outdoorsman. Survivors include his son, Michael Steele (Janet); grandchildren, Amy Tener (Matt), and Dale Steele (fiance Liz Jones), all of Wichita; brothers, Lester Lee Steele of Tucson, AZ, Ellis "Steve" LeRoy Steele of Albuquerque, NM; Michael's mother, Mary Lou Nisttahuz. He is preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Steele; parents, Clyde and Sylvia Steele; sister, Lyndall Dodson. No visitation. Graveside service: 10am Monday, October 17, 2016, Kechi Township Cemetery, 6523 N. Hillside, Wichita. A memorial is established with Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2258 N. Marigold, Wichita, KS 67204.
