Loren J. Johnson

Johnson, Loren Jerome, 76, former owner of Johnson Insurance Agency, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Memorial service 2 p.m. Friday, February 27, at Pleasantview Baptist Church, 1335 N. Buckner, Derby. Loren was instrumental in forming the Derby Jr. Football League and American Legion Baseball teams. He was a member of Pleasantview Baptist Church, Derby Jaycees, American Legion Post 408, and Masonic Lodge 365. He sold the agency in 1995, then went to work at Cessna for five years. Loren loved to golf, fish, and cheer for the Royals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Velma Johnson. Survived by wife of 52 years, Kathryn; children Jeff (Jan) Johnson, Todd (Jaime) Johnson, and Jennifer Clifton; grandchildren Drew, Meagan, Savannah, Tucker, Caitlyn, Jordan, Chloe, and Dylan; brothers Larry (Glena) Johnson, Mike (Karen) Johnson; many nieces and nephews, and furry companion Audie the dog.
