Lois Wethington

Lois Elaine (DeYoung) Wethington, 86, of Haysville, died at 9:00 pm, Saturday September 27, 2025, at Advena Assisted Living in Clearwater, Kansas.

Born February 25, 1939 in Norton, Kansas, she was the daughter of David Edward DeYoung and Lela (Erickson) DeYoung. She married Robert Wethington on September 8, 1962. She was a member of Pawnee Avenue Church of God and Genesis Evangelical Free Church of Wichita, Kansas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Lela DeYoung, her brother Lyle DeYoung and her husband, Robert Wethington. She is survived by sisters, Phyllis Mapes of Bonner Springs, Kansas and Delores (Keith) Erickson of Prairie View, Kansas, her sons David Wethington of Haysville and Daniel (Kristin) Wethington of Edmond, Oklahoma, her granddaughters Lauren (Daniel) Clausing of Overland Park, Kansas, Lindsey (Andrew) Shepardson of Wichita, Kansas and Leah (Chandler) Sherwood of Olathe, Kansas and great grandsons Henry and Sam Clausing and Calvin Shepardson.

Funeral Services will be held at Genesis Evangelical Free Church at 2611 East Pawnee in Wichita, Kansas. The service will be at 11:00 am Saturday, October 11, and will be officiated by Rev. Abdel Gonzalez. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Genesis Evangelical Free Church can be made in her name.
