Lois A. Mitchell, 97, of Rose Hill, passed away April 9, 2023. Born September 24, 1925 in Douglass, the daughter of Everett and Florence (Berger) Barnes. Lois was the Postmaster in Rose Hill for 29 years, retiring in 1985. She enjoyed quilting and working in her yard.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, and two sons, Jon and Jim. She is survived by one son Joe, daughters-in-law Mary Kay Mitchell and Sue Mitchell; three grandchildren Dawn (Keith) Rundle, Amy (Tony) Serrano, Jeff (Jodie) Mitchell; seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation 5-7pm Friday, April 14 at Smith Mortuary in Derby. Funeral service 2pm Saturday, April 15 at the Rose Hill United Methodist Church, followed by interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. A memorial is established with the church.
