Lisa Sheryl Goings

Lisa S. Goings of Wichita, KS, passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2026, surrounded by her family, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Melanoma cancer.

Born on Jan 15th, 1959 in Wichita, Kansas to parents of Lee and Marva Newberry, Lisa lived a life defined by an unwavering love for her family.

Lisa spent years working as a purchasing agent at several aviation companies. But her true passion was creating beautiful, styled homes. She found so much joy in decorating every room, not for herself, but to create a warm, welcoming space where the people she loved gather and make lasting memories. Every detail reflected her care and vision into making our house a home.

Above all, Lisa was a devoted Wife and Companion to her Husband for over 50 years. She is survived by her mother, Marva Newberry; sister, Debbie McNutt; brother, Steve Newberry; her beautiful children, Megan (Nick) Kouratou, Chad (Lauren) Goings and Grant (Jaylin) Goings; and the lights of her life - her grandbabies, Conrad and Cyrus Kouratou, Hudson, Bionca and Fiona Goings, Charlotte Grogan and Suede Goings. Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Levon Newberry; Ted and Eric McNutt, and Jan Newberry.

A celebration of Lisa's life will be 6:00 - 8:00pm Wednesday, July 1st, 2026 at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Road, Derby, KS. All who knew and loved Lisa are welcome to attend. 

Rosary will be 10:00am Thursday, July 2, 2026 followed by a 10:30am Funeral Mass, both at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2300 E Meadowlark Rd, Derby, KS 67037.
