Linda Ruth Rhodes

Linda Ruth Rhodes, 60, of Derby, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Visitation: 2-8pm Monday with the family greeting friends from 5-7pm at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Funeral services: 11:00am, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, First Christian Church, 201 N. Derby, Derby. Graveside: 5pm, Hillcrest Cemetery, Mullinville, KS. Linda was born on June 16, 1950 in Dodge City, KS. and grew up in Mullinville, KS, graduating from Mullinville High School. In January of 1970, she married her high school sweetheart Robert Rhodes in Wichita, KS. Linda was a Paraprofessional with the Derby school district working with special needs children. Her passion was for helping others. She is preceded in death by her mother Nola Ruth Marcotte and father John Sherer. Survivors include her husband Robert of Derby; sons, Chatt (April) of Bothell, WA, Ryan (Andi) of Wichita; brother, Rick (Cathy) Sherer of Mullinville, KS; step-mother, Jackie Sherer of Mullinville; grandchildren, Alex, Nick, Ben, Katie, Izzy and Max.
