Linda Beth Overman

Linda B. Overman, 76, retired legal secretary, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. She was born June 20, 1950, to Lynn and Clara Thompson in Wichita, Kansas.

Linda lived her life with an abundant appreciation for people, community, and every moment worth celebrating. She was known for her remarkable gift of hospitality — an extraordinary hostess who poured her heart into gatherings throughout the year. Her creativity knew no bounds, expressed through stained glass artistry, woodworking, and countless other projects she approached with care, imagination, and a desire to bring beauty into the lives of others. She also enjoyed line dancing, bowling, playing the organ, traveling, and tending to her flower garden.

Deeply committed to service, Linda was a past president of her VFW Auxiliary post and held additional officer roles over the years. She dedicated nearly four decades to Aero Community Services as a member of its board of directors. She was an active volunteer with AARP, and a devoted participant at the local senior center, where she taught special classes. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life; she was a committed member of her church, serving in Vacation Bible School, meal preparation, and teaching Sunday school throughout her life whenever needed. Linda also served with the Dromedary Dames, and was a longtime, active member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; her brother, Ernie Thompson; and nephews Mark and Ryan Thompson. Linda is survived by her children, Amy (Jay Christensen) and Jinny Ludwa; grandchildren, Nichole (Kyle) Anstine and Callie (Jose Acosta) Ludwa; great grandchildren, Olivia, Arya, Ace, and Madalynn; siblings, C.J. (Steve) Saboe and Larry (Lisa McCarty) Thompson; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members whom she loved dearly.

Services have been held.

A Memorial has been established with Sharon Baptist Church, Wichita, KS.
