Linda Joan Mcahren

Linda Joan McAhren, 71, Passed away February 21, 2017, at Victoria Falls Assisted Living Andover, KS. Linda was born August 19,1945 in Parsons, KS to Marvin and Mary Pickering of Bartlett, KS. She attended Bartlett Elementary School, Labette County High School in Altamont, KS, and graduated from High School in Afton Oklahoma.

She married Ray Stilwell and together they had one daughter Shannon Raelynn Stilwell in 1969. On Februrary 19,1978, she married the "Love of her Life" Gary McAhren, and together they raised Robert, Jay and Neesa McAhren. Linda worked as a real estate agent in Augusta, KS, and later managed the Grove Oklahoma Senior Center until she retired. Linda was active in community theater, had numerous poems and stories published in local newspapers, and loved to cook and bake.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Mary Pickering, brother Dale Pickering, husband Gary McAhren, and daughter Shannon Stilwell. Linda is survived by her brother Rusty Pickering (Vickie), sister-in-law Rita Pickering, step children Robert McAhren, Jay McAhren and Neesa Cox, several grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 10am Friday, February 24, at Hope Community Church, 1831 E. 21st St. in Andover. Interment will be at McLaughlin Cemetery in Cleora, Oklahoma at 1pm Monday, February 27th. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Linda's name to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Heart of America Chapter 6950 Squibb Road, Suite 310, Mission, KS 66202.
