Linda C. Hughes

Linda Carol (Lynch) Hughes, was born December 13, 1950 and passed away Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the age of 63. Visitation 1-8 PM Saturday, September 13th, with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Graveside services will be private. Linda retired after working over 25 years for the Department of Agriculture, recently splitting her time between the Washington, D.C. and Salina offices. She was married to Bill Hughes for 20 years. Linda enjoyed her time spent with her grandkids, going to the movies and traveling. She is preceded in death by her father, Voris “Doc” Lynch; and her grandparents, Bill and Emma Gifford and John and Emma Lynch. Survivors include her sons, Jeff Hughes, of Arkansas City, and Mike Hughes (Teresa), of Rose Hill; mother, Irene Lynch, of Mulvane; sisters, Sue Taylor, of Mulvane, Nancy Farber, of Derby, and Rhonda Best, of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Justin, Austin, Ashlynn and Zachary Hughes; and a great-grandson, Landyn.
