Lester Doan Shepherd

Lester “Leo” Doan Shepherd, 86, passed away October 16, 2013. He was born December 6, 1926 to his loving parents Lester and Goldie Reeder Shepherd. His parents and his brothers Arthur Shepherd and Charles E. Shepherd precede him in death. Survivors include nieces and nephews, Debra Border Lawton, OK; Mark Shepherd Wichita, KS; Joann Shepherd Hull Vancouver, WA; Nicky Shepherd Langston Overland Park, KS; Tony Shepherd Albuquerque, NM; Lisa Shepherd Valentine North Bend WA, cousins and many great-nieces and nephews. He served and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy during WWII. Leo was a racecar driver, mechanic and a welder. He often said, “Oh just buy me a cup of coffee” for payment for fixing your car or whatever it was you needed worked on. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
