Leslie Eugene Seibert

July 14, 1950 — August 2, 2025

Leslie Eugene Seibert, age 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 2, 2025. Les was born July 14,1950 to Merle and Clarice Seibert in Parsons, Kansas.

Les graduated from West High School in Wichita, Kansas in 1968.

On February 14, 1982, Les and Cheryl were united in marriage and lived in the Wichita/Derby area for 38 years before retiring in 2020 to Grand Lake in Grove, Oklahoma. Les and Cheryl were active members of First Evangelical Free Church in Wichita for many years and are now current members of The Church of the Shepherd in Grove, Oklahoma.

Les was a natural born salesman and had many sales jobs over the years. Les loved interacting with people and the thrill of making a deal. His greatest achievement being his establishment of BugStoppers Pest Control Company. He felt he was too old to start a new company, but at the encouragement of his wife Cheryl and his best friend Wes, he jumped in with both feet. So at the age of 50, he built a successful business where he took great pride in providing the means for family and friends to make a living with the BugStoppers Franchise.

While owning and operating a successful business, Les never missed an opportunity to spend his evenings and weekends attending many basketball games, baseball games, soccer games, karate tournaments, dance competitions, cheerleading competitions or any other activity his grandkids were involved in. Les also enjoyed spending his summers on the lake and vacationing with his 3 daughters, sons-in-law and 9 grandchildren along with the many “bonus grandkids” that accompanied his own grandkids. They were all family as far as Les was concerned. Les also enjoyed traveling, camping and bike riding with Cheryl and their many friends.

Preceded in death by his father, Merle and mother and step-father, Clarice and Clem Smith. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Cheryl; children, Gina (Kasey) Thrailkill, Staci, (John Daivid) Burkholder, Serena (Ken) Canion; Nancy (Daniel Carlson) Seibert; grandchildren, Austin, Chloe and Carson Thrailkill, Lane, Aliyah and Avery Burkholder, Sadie (Graham) Kennedy, Brody and Carter Canion.

Visitation with family is from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, August 14, 2025 and funeral service is 2:00 pm Friday, August 15, 2025, both at Smith Family Mortuary, 1415 N Rock Rd, Derby, KS 67037.

In lieu of flowers, to honor the community he loved, a memorial has been established with the Hickory Point HOA, 26002 S. 605 Rd, Grove, OK 74344.
