Leslie W. “Les” Gould, age 70, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013, following a heroic two-year battle with esophageal cancer. Memorial service 2:00pm Saturday, November 16, at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Inurnment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt, KS on Monday, November 11th at 2:00pm. Les was born May 31, 1943 in Pratt, KS. He is preceded in death by his father, Willis Gould; mother, Joy Guthrie; half-brother, Charles Holder; half-sister, Linda Gould Frederick. Les is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Gould of Mulvane, KS; step-mother, Louise Gould of Pratt, KS; half-siblings, Edwin Gould of Pratt, KS, David (Donna) Gould of Pratt, KS, Elizabeth (Arlyn) McGuire of Stafford, KS, Linda (Ben) Caudillo of Hutchinson, KS, James (Cheryl) Guthrie of Diamond City, AR and Lawrence (Toni) Guthrie of Monroe, LA; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, KS 66675 and the Wichita Children’s Home, 810 N. Holyoke Wichita, KS 67208.
