Leslie Barnard Bleier

February 28, 1952 — July 26, 2010

Bleier, Barney, 58, beloved son, father of three, grandfather of four, passed away unexpectedly Monday night. Although tragically short, he lived quite a full life. A studious scholar of many subjects with a double major in math and accounting, an aerospace engineer, pilot, sound and lighting expert, entrepreneur, accountant, math, space and science enthusiast, film buff, avid reader, and bass guitar player he had many interests. He had great passion for all his pursuits and an insatiable thirst for knowledge. In his younger years he enjoyed baseball, weight lifting and karate. He was cerebral yet compassionate and kind with an open heart and mind. Although intellectually driven, he was a constant prankster with a great sense of humor, very outgoing, and loved social gatherings and events. Undoubtedly he was a unique, diverse character full of life and charisma. For more than the last decade, he enjoyed playing and wrestling with his grand children. He shared with them his love, knowledge, and zest for life. He was a trusted and respected mentor to both his kids and grandkids. He was always available for his family and helped in so many ways. He gave us all so much and will certainly be missed but not forgotten. He is survived by his mother, Margaret, three sons, Chad, Scott, and Brian as well as four grand children, Briniya, Kane, Caden and Brenna. Viewing will be available Friday (30th) at Culbertson-Smith Mortuary, 115 S. Seneca. A service will be held at Bethany Lutheran Church and School Saturday (26th Street S. and Seneca) on July 31st, starting at 12 p.m. (noon).
