Leonard David Jordan, 93, was born May 22, 1932 in Atoka County Oklahoma to William Newton (Newt) Jordan and Cora Belle (Reliford) Jordan. He married Lillie Belle Lewis on May 16, 1952 in Paris, Texas. They were married for 69 years and they raised three children, Johnny Wayne, Jeffery Allen and Deborah Ann. Leonard went home to be with Jesus on May 5, 2026.
He is survived by his children, Johnny (Lovina), Jeff (Mandy) and Deborah Hickey; 8 grandchildren, Amie Jo (Tim) Walton, Dustin Jordan, Stacy (Mike) Millerskow, Michelle Cook, Melissa Hickey, Brian Hickey, Emily Jordan, Rachael Jordan; 11 great grandchildren, Wyatt Walton, Levi Walton, McKenzie Jordan, Madison Millerskow, Maggie Millerskow, Bentley Millerskow, Alex Cook, Cameron Cook, Kaden Cook, Landon Cook and Christian Cook; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leonard grew up in the hills of Jumbo, Oklahoma before he and Lillie made their home in Wichita, Kansas in the 1950's after they were married. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War after entering service in 1953. For his dedicated military service, he received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations & Defense Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
Leonard worked for many years as a truck mechanic and was known as a true outdoorsman. Leonard and Lillie spent nearly every weekend at the lake with their children, creating family memories together. Leonard loved fishing of any and all kinds, including fishing trips to Canada, trout fishing in Colorado, and catfishing in Kansas and Oklahoma.
One of Leonard's favorite places on earth to visit was Colorado, where he traveled nearly every year of his adult life. He loved spending time along the banks of Soap Creek in Gunnison County during the summers, and he looked forward to his deer and elk hunting trips in the winter.
Leonard and Lillie also spent time in the area they had grown up near Jumbo, Oklahoma and where they owned a few acres of "mountain land" surrounded by extended family who still lived in the area. Later in life they built a cabin near Jumbo so they could enjoy more time with family and enjoy the great outdoors! Leonard also loved woodworking and gardening.
