Leon Gordon Young

Wichita, KS- Leon Young, 89, passed away May 23, 2025. He was born October 16, 1935.

Leon was a dedicated police officer in Clearwater, Kansas, and a devoted preacher in the Church of Christ. He had a passion for fishing, shooting pool, and was an exceptional bowler, known for his perfect games. Above all, he was an honest man of faith and service—respected for his integrity, kindness, and unwavering commitment to others. He will be missed by his sweet dog, Chico.

Leon was preceded in death by parents; wife, May Irene Young; daughters, Cheryl Young and Jeanette Young; grandson, Shane Young; sisters, Cenita McDowell and brother, Dwight Young

Leon is survived by daughter, Teresa Young, son, Rodney Young; granddaughter, Charity Chrans, Annetta Mies; 6 great-grandchildren; 8 great-greatgrandchildren
