Leland C. Holton

Leland Holton, age 83, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013. Visitation 1-8 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2013 with family present 6-8 PM, Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. No Services will be held. Lee was born in Stonington, CO to Chester C. and Stella Pierce Holton. He is preceded in death by his parents and stepfather. Lee is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rose Marie (Davis); sons, Dee (Pauline) Holton, Scott (Marti) Holton; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Rogers, Nikki Holton, Chris (Taylor) Holton, all of Wichita, Anglia (Kevin) Lowe of Mt. Hope, Ashlie (Matt) Tibbits of Haysville; great-grandchildren, Molly, Timmy, Trenton, Tavian Sydney and Tanner Rogers, Madison Caroll, Conner Nelson. Lee grew up a mile south of Haysville. He moved to Kansas in 1937 when his mother married Lytle Vreeland. He attended school in Haysville until high school where he went to Clearwater Freshman and sophomore year- Jr. and senior year in Derby. He spent 2 years in Army stationed in France. He worked at several body shops before going to Boeing where he retired after 20 yrs. Lee loved to fish and hunt. He loved playing with his grandkids and great-grandkids.
