Lela Maxine Mckeever

March 14, 1921 — July 2, 2017

Lela (Wallace) McKeever went to be with The Lord on July 2, 2017 at her home in Derby, Kansas. She was born in Maxey, Colorado, March 14, 1921 to Spencer and Roxie Wallace. Lela came to rural Beaver County, Oklahoma, in a covered wagon at the age of 3. She graduated from Booker, Texas High School in 1939. She married Ivan McKeever on June 17, 1939. They lived in the Panhandle of Oklahoma until June 2012, when they moved to a retirement community in Derby, Kansas. Lela was preceded in death by her husband Ivan, her parents Spencer and Roxie, half sister Inez Clubb, son in law Charles Kanaga. She is survived by , daughters Sharon (Jim) Mathis, Cristyal Kanaga and son, Zane. Grandchildren Shane (Ladona) Mathis, Brandi Massey, Great-Grandchildren Kaylee and Michael Mathis, Serenati and Dace Massey, sister in laws Wynema Wright and Mary Lou McKeever, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Special thanks to the staff and residents of the Derby Assisted Living, where she resided for the past five years. Momma was an inspiration and a positive influence to all who were blessed to cross her path. We will miss you, Momma and your prayers, we love you more than words can say.
