Lela Delores Stufflebeam Dikeman passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the Villa Maria in Mulvane. Lela was born on April 3, 1918 on the Brandon family homestead on the banks of the Walnut River near Douglass, KS, to James M. Stufflebeam and Florence Ann Brandon Stufflebeam. She grew up in the Perkins, OK area and married her high school sweetheart Morgan J. Westfall on April 18, 1936 in Perry, OK. Lela is survived by her son Ray Winston Westfall and wife Sharron of Mulvane; her daughter Margaret Ann Sitch of Pueblo, CO; her daughter Karen Elaine Rambo and husband Gary of Mulvane; her daughter Betty Jean Mills and husband Carl of Mulvane; her son Randall Morgan Westfall and wife Debbie of Socorro, NM; her sister Jessie Fern Stufflebeam Pence of East Wenatchee, WA; sister-in-law Felsa Westfall Hastings of Perkins, OK; sister-in-law Evelyn Westfall of Atlanta, GA; sister-in-law Eulonda Moon of Cushing, OK; and sister-in-law Edie Stufflebeam of Harper, KS. Lela’s ten grandchildren are Rusty Ray Westfall and his wife Suzanne of Mulvane; Brent Sterling Iverson and his wife Karen of Mulvane; Kurtis Sean Westfall and his wife Shelly of Mulvane; Stacy DeeAnn Harvey and her husband Danny of Mulvane; Michelle LeAnn Kelley and husband Robert of Mulvane; Angela Jeane McCreight of Granbury, TX; Nancy Jean Mottola and her husband Luciano of Mulvane; Jaliene Luticia Ross of Wichita; Stacy Leigh Taylor and husband Joshua of Albuquerque, NM, and Jonathan Scott Hickman and wife Krystal of Denver, CO. Lela’s great grandchildren are Brian Jason Ross and wife Jenna of Mulvane; Carter Morgan Westfall, Sydney Rae Westfall, and Zachary Robert Westfall all of Mulvane; Emily Marie Westfall, Kaylie Brooke Westfall, Elizabeth Ruth Dollard, Abigail Charlene Dollard, and Samuel Keith Westfall, all of Mulvane; Justin Chase James and wife Randi, Brandon Tyler James, Kara Denae James, Tanner Wade James, Zachary Allen McCreight and Sierra LuAnn McCreight, all of Granbury, TX; Jordan Nicole Iverson Cox, Baltimore, MD, and Madison Danielle Iverson of Mulvane; Laine Morgan Harvey and Isaac Douglas Harvey of Mulvane; Jesse Alan McCulloch, Aubrey Dean McCulloch, and Kayla Jean McCulloch all of Mulvane. Lela is also survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Lela loved ballroom dancing and was an avid reader of the Bible. After retiring from a long career in the aircraft industry, she spent many years traveling the highways and byways of America seeing the country she loved with her second husband; Lela married long-time friend Birl A. Dikeman in September, 1980. Lela was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother Jessie Stufflebeam, brothers Carl Brandon, Kenneth Stufflebeam and Dale Stufflebeam, and both husbands. Visitation for Lela will be 10AM – 8 PM Wednesday, Senter-Smith Mortuary, 501 SE Louis Blvd., Mulvane. Her Celebration of Life service will be at 10AM Thursday, Aug. 4 at Mulvane Christian Church, Pastor Dane Massey officiating. Senter-Smith Mortuary in Mulvane is handling arrangements. The family has requested gifts to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market,Wichita, 67202 or the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation of Kansas, 5111 E. 21st St. N., Wichita, 67208, in lieu of flowers.
