Lazar, Lawrence “Larry” H.

Of Udall, Kansas died on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 78. He was born June 5, 1946, in Atlanta, Georgia the son of Lawrence Warren and Floreed (McDaniel) Lazar.

He graduated from Henry County High School. In 1964, Larry enlisted in the US Air Force where he served honorably until his retirement as a Master Sargent in 1985. After retiring from the Air Force, he went to work for Boeing, writing technical manuals for military planes. He retired from Boeing after 25 years.

On December 31, 1967 he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Jeri Ellen Kemp. To this union two sons were born, Lawrence Michael and Christopher Kevin. Larry was widowed on September 30, 2015 when Jeri passed away. On July 10, 2020 Larry was united in marriage to Bernita Weber.

Larry is survived by his wife, Bernita of the home; children, Michael (Misty) of Eureka, Kevin (Brandis) of Rose Hill; two step-children, Donita Allison of Severy, Kansas, Kerry (Traci) Allison of Guthrie, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; Cody (Tiffany), Garrett (Kassie), Joshua (BreAsia), Elizabeth, Sarah (Jesse), Phillip, and Samantha; four step-grandchildren, Sadie, Wade, Anthony and Andrea; four great-grandchildren, Paityn, Addisyn, Mason, Emersyn; six step-great children; sister, Susan Haynes; and niece, Christie Moore.

Larry was preceded in death by his first wife, Jeri; his parents; step-mother, Sarah; and brother, Warren.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday October 4, 2024 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, 1208 N College St, Winfield, KS 67156.
