May 15, 1930 — January 3, 2017
Lawrence LeRoy Evans, age 86, passed away January 3, 2017. A veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marine Corps, he achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He was a demolition instructor. A Master Plumber/HVAC, he was a member of the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local 441. Memorial service 4pm Friday, January 6, 2017 at Smith Mortuary, Derby. Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Margaret (West) Evans; sister, Mardeane (Evans) Okerstrom; infant siblings: Everett and Murial Evans; and favorite aunt, Marie West. Survivors: Margaret (Powers) Evans; children, Lawrence Wayne Evans (Elaine), Marsha Blair (Greg), Gregory Evans (Kim), Yolanda Nowak (Joe); 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren.
