Lavina Hopper

Lavina (Smith) Hopper, age 101, of Haysville, formerly of Moline, KS. A precious heart stopped beating for our “Special Lady” Thursday, June 9, 2011. The Lord held out his hand and said “Come with Me.” Lavina was born April 24, 1910 at Piedmont, KS to Oscar & Myrtle Smith. She will join her husband Oscar, her parents, 2 brothers and 5 sisters in Heaven. Visitation 1-8 PM Monday with family receiving friends 5-7 PM, service 10 AM Tuesday, both at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Rd., Derby. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery, at Grenola, KS. She is survived by her daughters, Wanda (Charles) Cornwell, of Reeds Spring, MO, Barbara (Robert) Hall, of Haysville, JoAnn (Bill) Connell, of Irving, TX, and Carol Smith, of Woodland Hills, CA; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
