We mourn the passing of Larry Dee Iverson whose life was a testament to kindness and compassion. Larry, 85, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. Larry will be remembered for his vibrant spirit and unwavering support.
Larry was born and raised in Mulvane. After high school, Larry joined the Army (1958-1960) and then played football at Cowley County Community College. He was a machinist for Boeing for several years before he and his good friend, Ray Westfall, started their business, Iverson & Westfall Plumbing & Electric. He returned to Boeing until his retirement in 1995.
In 1980, Larry married the love of his life, Sue Ann Shelton. They lived a life of travels, building many homes together, and enjoying life to the fullest for 34 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Ann Iverson, his parents Iven and Irene Iverson, and his brother Rollo Iverson.
He is survived by his children, Brent (Darla) Iverson, Stacy (Danny) Harvey, stepson Darren (Jennifer) Chambers and stepdaughters Karen Camp, Carol McClure, and Patty Martin. Grandchildren Jordan (Justin) Leatherman, Madison (Orin) Beavers, Laine (Zach) Mapel, Isaac Harvey, Ashton Selsor, Mallory Chambers, Tyler (Alicia) Rickstrew, Taylor Rickstrew, and Michael Chambers. Great grandchildren, Owen, Westin, Baker, and Turner.
Visitation 5-7pm Thursday, April 10, with Funeral Services 10am Friday, April 11, all at Smith Family Mortuary in Mulvane. Military honors by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow in the Mulvane Cemetery.
A memorial has been established with Tunnel to Towers, T2T.org.
