Kenneth Merle Wolf

Dr. Kenneth Merle Wolf, age 87, of Kansas City, formerly of Derby, retired Elementary School Principal, USD 259, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015. No visitation, private graveside service. He was born March 27, 1928 on a farm near Humboldt, KS, to Mable A. and Lee Harold Wolf. He was a 1946 graduate of the Humboldt High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Emporia State University, Masters Degree from Wichita State University and his Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma. His first teaching position was in Scott City, KS. He served as Principal at Martinson, South Hillside, McLean and Buckner Elementary Schools in Wichita. He was married to Betty Jean Lake on June 3, 1950. She died April 19, 1987. He is also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold. He married Mary Margaret (Wentz) Wright, May 10, 1998. She survives. Other survivors include his sons, Steve (Lynn), Seattle, WA, Greg (Ivy), Neptune Beach, FL, and Brad (Kris), Ramsey, MN; stepson, Steve Wright (Pat), Prescott, AZ; stepdaughter, Cathy Cook (Dick), Bonner Springs, KS; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
