Kenneth Edward Watkins

Watkins, Kenneth E., 87, passed away Friday, March 8, 2013. Memorial service 2 pm Wednesday, March 13, at Haysville United Methodist Church. Kenneth was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and Marine. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea. Many knew him as a collector and tinkerer. He enjoyed antique guns and cameras, photography, painting, and staying active in the Marine Corps League and Toys for Tots. Preceded in death by his wife, Ada and four siblings. Survived by daughters Vicki (Steve) Hadley of Andover, and Kathy (Mitch) Self of Derby; grandchildren Maria Hadley, Michael (Irene) Hadley, Bryce Free, Travis (Joy) Free; step-grandsons Jake (Jenna) Self and Logan Self; great-grandchildren Hannah and Ethan Zimmerman and Isaac and Ella Hadley. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Robert J. Dole VA Hospice, 5500 E. Kellogg, Wichita, KS 67218. The family would like to thank the Hospice unit for the wonderful care they provided.
