Walcher, Kenneth Charles, 70, passed away Saturday, November 23rd, 2024. He was born December 29th, 1953 to Alvin and Bernice Walcher in Wichita, Kansas.
Ken, or Kenny as known through childhood, graduated in 1972 from Kapaun-Mount Carmel High School and continued school at Wichita State University earning a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in 1977. While at WSU, he was also a member of the Delta Upsilon fraternity.
Ken spent many years employed with the family business, Walcher Metal Treat Inc, specializing in heat treat and shot peen airplane part processing. He retired in 2001, from The Boeing Company within the heat treat department where he utilized his skills as a part processor, quality inspector and machine operator.
Aside from keeping up with 3 daughters, Ken enjoyed fishing and duck hunting with many friends as well as his membership with Ducks Unlimited. He knew no strangers and was an avid conversationalist – sharing his knowledge of Wichita history and his favorite restaurants to anyone he met. Ken enjoyed friends and activities and especially live music while residing at Via Christi Villages the past 4 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James and Alan.
He is survived by his children, Rosie (Patrick) Farmer of Buckner, MO, Rachel Walcher of Wichita, KS, Renee Walcher of Kansas City, MO; Wichita, KS family to include Sister-in-Law, Suzanne Walcher; nieces, Lisa Walcher, Katy (Jason Stauffer) Walcher; great nephews, Jack McIntyre, Oliver Walcher, Maxwell Walcher and great niece, Elizabeth Stauffer.
Graveside Service is 1:00pm Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum, 1645 N. Maize Road, Wichita, KS 67212.
