Kenneth Clark Denton, 63, of Derby, Kansas, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous seven-year battle with cancer.
Kenneth was born on January 19, 1963, in Wichita, Kansas, to Don and Mary Lou Denton. He graduated from Derby High School in 1981 and went on to earn his degree from Kansas State University's College of Arts and Sciences in 1986. He built a distinguished career as the owner of Otis Miller Alignment until 2016, after which he served faithfully as an employee of B&S Ametek until his illness prevented him from continuing.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Kenneth was a man of deep character and unwavering devotion. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest pride was his family. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golf, and was widely admired for his exceptional skill at the grill. A lifelong Kansas City Chiefs fan, Kenneth brought the same passion to everything he loved.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shauna Denton; Eldest son Dakota and his wife Catherine Denton with their son Callum Denton and his youngest son Dalton Denton; sister Debra Denton; and finally his cherished companion, Merry - affectionately known as Emmy, or "Bitty Two Shoes" as Kenneth fondly called her. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Mary Lou Denton, and his brother, Jeff Denton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. at Smith Mortuary, 1415 N. Rock Road, Derby, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be directed to MD Anderson Sarcoma Research in Kenneth's memory (Donate Here)
