Kenneth Hugh Alvis, 62, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2013. Visitation 1-5pm Thursday; funeral service 10am Friday, both at Smith Mortuary, 7031 S. Broadway, Haysville. Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Albert and Virgie Alvis; son Johnny Alvis; grandson Angel Alvis; grandmother Gladys Leslie; and mother-in-law, Maxine Guymon. Survived by wife Ann; children Lily (David) Jones, Kenneth Lynn Alvis, Amanda Dille, Mary (Robert) Atchison, Jessica (Anthony) Yell, Tayla Alvis, Brier (the late Johnny) Alvis; siblings Linda (Terry) Altheide, William Alvis, Mary Johnson, Pam Lewis; and 17 grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the American Diabetes Foundation, 608 W. Douglas, Ste. 100 Wichita, Ks 67203.
