Kathryn G. “Kathy" Freed, age 77, formerly of Wichita, retired Mayberry school teacher; secretary, First Church of the Brethren; and administrative assistant, Interfaith Ministries, died Saturday, August 17, 2013. Visitation 6-9PM Thursday, First Church of the Brethren, 1107 Jefferson, Wichita. Memorial service 3PM Sunday, McPherson Church of the Brethren, 200 N Carrie. Kathy is preceded in death by her parents, Lee & Laura Kendall; brother, Albert Eugene; and sister, Margaret Fern. Survivors: husband, Ron, McPherson; daughter, Cheryl Hammarlund (Ted), McPherson; brother, Mike Kendall (Connie), Bedford, IN; sister, Lucy Cary (Cletus), Derby; grandsons, Daniel and Scott Hammarlund; several nieces and nephews. Memorial donations to First Church of the Brethren, Wichita or McPherson.
